Leicester City have come from behind to secure a hard-fought 2-1 victory over last season's playoff runners-up Coventry City at the King Power Stadium.
In the first half, Leicester had control of the game, but the scoring opportunities they generated were either long-range shots or half-chances.
Coventry, on the other hand, had a notable chance when Kasey Palmer shot just over the bar from a distance.
The pattern continued after half-time, but this time, Coventry managed to take the lead through a corner kick, when Kyle McFadzean got in front of the defender and directed a strong header into the far corner of the goal.
The Sky Blues' offensive efforts remained threatening, with Ellis Simms being denied by a great save from Mads Hermansen, followed by the Danish goalkeeper blocking Matt Godden's close-range attempt with his near post.
Coventry's missed chances came back to haunt them as Dewsbury-Hall levelled the game 13 minutes from time after Dennis Praet delivered a cross, and the English midfielder perfectly timed his header to find the corner of the net.
Just 10 minutes later, Dewsbury-Hall put the Foxes in front with impressive strike from inside the penalty area, finding the top corner of Ben Wilson's goal.
Just before Dewsbury-Hall's second goal, new Coventry arrival Haji Wright, saw his shot brilliantly deflected onto the crossbar by Hermansen, and the rebound went narrowly wide.
Despite a lengthy nine minutes of added time, the visitors couldn't create a final scoring opportunity.
Next up, Enzo Maresca's men will have two away games. First, they will face Burton Albion on Tuesday night, followed by a trip to Huddersfield on the following Saturday.
As for Coventry City, they will travel to AFC Wimbledon on Wednesday night for the EFL Cup First Round. Following that, they will have a host Middlesbrough on Saturday.
