Liverpool reclaimed the top spot in the Premier League table with a 3-1 win over Burnley at Anfield.

The visitors had a confident start, displaying attacking intent from the outset with Caoimhin Kelleher making a crucial save to deny Zeki Amdouni within the first ten minutes.

Despite a lackluster and somewhat uneventful opening half-hour from the hosts, they managed to take the lead.

A well-delivered corner by Trent Alexander-Arnold caught James Trafford off guard, allowing Diogo Jota to head the ball into an empty net.

The Burnley goalkeeper redeemed himself shortly after with an impressive save from Luis Diaz's close-range effort.

Just before half-time, the Clarets levelled with a spectacular header from Dara O'Shea, thanks to a precise corner by Josh Brownhill.

In the second-half, Jurgen Klopp's men asserted more dominance and regained the lead seven minutes after the break.

Harvey Elliott delivered a ball across the goal, and Diaz headed it home at the near post. The goal was confirmed after a lengthy VAR check, providing relief to the Anfield crowd.

Although Burnley had two big chances to level the score, through January signing David Datro Fofana, but he was thwarted by a great save from Kelleher on the first attempt, and the second missed the target.

Liverpool had opportunities for a third goal through Jota and Jarell Quansah, but they couldn't beat Trafford.

Ultimately, Liverpool secured the victory 10 minutes from time with a superb header from Darwin Nunez, who connected with Elliott's precise delivery into the box.

With this result, the Reds have a two-point advantage at the top of the Premier League over Manchester City, who secured a 2-0 victory against Everton earlier in the day with the Citizen having played one game less.

This time, it was Sadio Mane who found the back of the net with a powerful strike, leaving goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey no chance.

Liverpool held on to their lead and secured all three points, maintaining their unbeaten home record this season.

What a game! Liverpool showed resilience and determination to take the win. Mane's goal was a beauty.
