Aston Villa to play Ajax in Last 16 of Europa Conference League

Aston Villa is set to face Dutch powerhouse Ajax in the last-16 stage of the Europa Conference League. 

Unai Emery's men were in the seeding spot in the draw by winning their group that included Legia Warsaw, AZ Alkmaar, and Zrinjski Mostar, but Villa found themselves up against one of the toughest opponents in Ajax for the upcoming round.

Ajax advanced to the Last 16 with a thrilling 4-3 aggregate victory over Bodo/Glimt on Thursday, with Kenneth Taylor scoring the winning goal just six minutes before the end of extra time.

The first leg in Amsterdam are scheduled for March 7, followed by the return fixture a week later at Villa Park.
