The 23-man Ballon d'Or shortlist unsurprisingly features six players from Champions League winners Barcelona.
Along with teammates Andre Iniesta, Luis Suarez, Ivan Rakitic, Neymar and Javier Mascherano, Argentine maestro Lionel Messi is an obvious name in the frame.
Messi will be a strong favourite to reclaim the award from its current holder Cristiano Ronaldo - the duo's monopoly of the prize stretching back seven years.
Gareth Bale is the only British name on the list, while Zlatan Ibrahimovic is the sole nominee playing his football in the French Ligue 1. Serie A has two representatives on the shortlist, Paul Pogba and Arturo Vidal both making the cut following their Champions League exploits with Juventus last year (although the Chilean subsequently moved to Bayern Munich).
Managerial names on the 10-man Coach of the Year shortlist include Premier League rivals Jose Mourinho and Arsene Wenger, though Barcelona's Luis Enrique's hands may be closer to lifting the trophy on the back of the Catalans' Champions League, Spanish league and Spanish cup treble last term.
