Bellingham late equaliser secures hard-fought draw

Jude Bellingham rescued England with a stoppage-time goal, securing a 2-2 draw against Belgium at Wembley.

Following a disappointing 1-0 defeat to Brazil over the weekend, England sought redemption but faced a challenging start at Wembley. 

With 11 minutes into the game, Belgium went ahead in London, capitalising on Jordan Pickford's error as his poor clearance led to Youri Tielemans' clever long-range strike.

The Three Lions swiftly responded six minutes after Ivan Toney was brought down by Jan Vertonghen in the penalty area, leading to a penalty that the Brentford striker calmly converted to level the score.

The hosts thought they had completed a first-half comeback with Jarrod Bowen's close-range finish from a Lewis Dunk header, but England's joy was short-lived as VAR ruled the goal out for offside.

England's momentum was disrupted again before half-time when Dunk's defensive error allowed Belgium to regain the lead, with Romelu Lukaku setting up Tielemans for his second goal.

Gareth Southgate's men resumed the second half positively, with Toney and Bowen both testing the Belgium goalkeeper Matz Sels but failing to find the net. 

Kobbie Mainoo also came close to scoring his debut England goal but was denied by a resilient Belgian defence.

Despite relentless pressure from England as the match progressed, it seemed they would fall short of an equaliser until Bellingham's late goal. 

In the fifth minute of stoppage time, the ball found its way to the Real Madrid midfielder inside the penalty area, and he calmly slotted it into the far corner to salvage a draw for his team.
