Real Madrid and England midfielder Jude Bellingham has been suspended for two La Liga games after his red card in a 2-2 draw at Valencia last weekend.
The 20-year-old thought he had notched a matchwinner for Real six minutes into stoppage time at the Mestalla on Saturday, but ref Gil Manzano inexplicably blew the whistle for full-time as the cross was being delivered.
The Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) stated that Bellingham showed "contempt or disregard" towards official Manzano after the game and the England international has been hit with a fine of 600 euros (£513), Real as a club fined 700 euros (£598) for the conduct of their players and staff.
After the incident Real manager Carlo Ancelotti said: "We were annoyed by Bellingham's red card because he didn't say anything insulting. It was frustration."
Real's top scorer this term with 16 La Liga goals, Bellingham will now miss games against Celta Vigo on Sunday and Osasuna on 16 March.
However, he will be able to play in Real's Champions League last-16 tie against RB Leipzig on Wednesday.
