The loan agreement between Olympique Lyonnais and West Ham for Said Benrahma has collapsed at the eleventh hour due to an administrative oversight on the part of the London club.
Despite both clubs signing and agreeing on all necessary documents, West Ham's failure to submit the required paperwork on FIFA's Transfer Management System (TMS) resulted in the move not being officially finalised.
Saïd Benrahma had successfully undergone a medical examination and was on the verge of joining the Ligue 1 team on loan, with a permanent transfer estimated at around £17 million scheduled for the upcoming summer.
A West Ham spokesperson said: "West Ham United can confirm that the Deadline Day deal for Saïd Benrahma to join Olympique Lyonnais was not concluded ahead of the deadline, with a deal unable to be completed before 11 pm."
