A stunning solo goal from Brahim Diaz saw Real Madrid secure a narrow 1-0 lead in their Champions League first-leg against RB Leipzig in Germany.

The game started with a lot of controversy as Leipzig had an early goal disallowed in the first two minutes.

Dani Carvajal's unusual clearance from the right side of his penalty box led to a corner, resulting in Benjamin Sesko heading the ball into the net.

However, the goal was swiftly ruled out after a VAR check, with the exact reasons not immediately clear, though it appeared to be due to a foul on goalkeeper Andriy Lunin.

Shortly after, Sesko attempted another shot, but it lacked the power to trouble Lunin.

Both teams struggled to create clear-cut chances in the first half. Toni Kroos' long-range effort was easily saved by Peter Gulacsi, and Rodrygo's attempt from Vinicius Junior's cut-back didn't pose much of a threat.

In the early minutes of the second half, Los Blancos stepped up their performance and took the lead. Brahim Diaz embarked on an amazing solo run, concluding it with a delightful curl into Gulacsi's top corner.

Rodrygo missed an opportunity to double Madrid's lead as his swing at the ball, under pressure, soared high and wide.

With 20 minutes remaining, Vinicius hit the post, while Lunin made a crucial save at the other end to deny Sesko's fierce strike.

As the clock wound down, Amadou Haidara's powerful volley seemed destined for the top corner, but Lunin once again thwarted the hosts, securing the victory for Real Madrid.

As a Real Madrid fan, I have to say Brahim Diaz's goal was pure magic! It's great to see him finally getting some playing time and making the most of it. The disallowed goal was a bit of a scare, but thankfully VAR sorted it out. Let's hope we can hold onto this lead in the second leg. Hala Madrid!
