Pep Guardiola’s men have qualified to this season’s Copa del Rey finals, after a 2-0 victory over Valencia at Camp Nou, on Wednesday evening, winning 3-1 on aggregate.
Barcelona will dispute the 2012 Copa del Rey finals against Athletic Bilbao after defeating their semi-finals opponents, Valencia, by 2-0 in their home second-leg match, after last week’s 1-1 tie in Valencia.
In another great performance, the Catalan giants reached the victory through Cesc Fabregas, who opened the score in the 16th minute of the first-half, as he was truly inspired with a great performance on Wednesday evening.
The Blaugrana secured their 2-0 victory with Xavi’s thunderbolt, nine minutes before the end of the game, at 81’, while Valencia failed to comeback from neither of their opponents scorings, despite their second-half strong performance with a stunning Jordi Alba opportunity, at the beginning of second 45 minutes, but Jose Pinto was focused and denied him the goal.
With this result, Valencia got eliminated from this term’s Copa del Rey, while Barcelona will dispute the trophy with Athletic Madrid in the finals.
