Barcelona defender Dani Alves has been ruled out of the Copa del Rey final, against Athletic Bilbao, at the Vicente Calderon on May 25, after sustaining a collarbone, the club have announced.
The Catalan giants have not confirmed the how long the Brazil international will be absent for, but team doctors, Ricard Pruna and Carles Torrens, will be revealing the full extent of his injury later on Wednesday.
What has been confirmed, however, is that the 29-year-old right-back will be out of action for the Copa del Rey final, which came as a massive blow for Pep Guardiola, who recently stated that Alves is an irreplaceable player for Barcelona.
Furthermore, Barça midfielder, Javier Mascherano has also praised his fellow South American as the best right-back in the world.
