Manchester United centre-half Jonny Evans has admitted the Red Devils were lucky as Fulham should have been given a last-minute penalty in the 1-0 win triumph over the Cottagers.
United move three points clear at the top with a first half goal by Wayne Rooney but struggled in a controversial final minutes, with referee Michael Oliver deciding not to award a penalty kick after a Michael Carrick tackle on Danny Murphy.
Martin Jol's men strongly complained about the official's decision and Evans admits he could have given the penalty kick.
“It's a great result for us but we were a bit disappointed with the performance. We've managed to grind out a 1-0 victory and it puts us top of the league again,” he told Sky Sports.
About the penalty, Evans said: “Yeah, you have a quick look to the referee. He's waved it away but having seen it back again I think he could've given a penalty for it.”
