Everton deducted more PL points

It has been confirmed that Everton have been deducted a further two points by the Premier League for further breaches of the Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR).

The Toffees were deducted ten points from their tally during the November international break but had that reduced by four points on appeal as they remain in the relegation battle.

The deduction means that they move from 15th to 16th in the Premier League table and are now just two points above Luton Town, who they play at Kenilworth Road in early May.

Everton managed their first league win since mid-December at the weekend as Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s fluke goal was enough to separate them and Championship-bound Burnley at Goodison Park.

The Toffees have a week to decide whether or not they will plan to appeal their two-point deduction, as they did in the first instance a couple of months ago.

Nottingham Forest were also deducted four points during the March international break for their own breaches of PSR and they play Everton at Goodison Park in just under two weeks.

The Premier League relegation battle appears to have just one spot remaining with both Burnley and Sheffield United seemingly now down, whilst Luton and Nottingham Forest are level on 25 points. Everton on 27 are two points behind Brentford and three below Crystal Palace as we head into the ‘run-in’.
