Ansu Fati and Simon Adingra propelled Brighton temporarily to the summit of their Europa League group with an impressive 2-0 triumph over Ajax.
In a match where both teams initiated positive attacking play, Brighton took a 1-0 lead after 14 minutes thanks to a gift from Silvano Vos, whose errant pass was intercepted by Simon Adingra.
The Ivory Coast international promptly set up Ansu Fati, and the 21-year-old Spaniard capitalised on the opportunity, slotting the ball past Diant Ramaj.
The Seagulls extended their lead early in the second half after a great move, as Fati released Adingra on the right, and the latter expertly finished past Ramaj.
The hosts had a big chance to pull one back in the 75th minute when Brian Brobbey struck the posts from Carlos Forbs' cross, the ball ricocheted along the goal-line and was eventually scrambled away.
The hosts intensified their efforts in the second half, displaying greater ball movement and attacking commitment, but it proved too little too late as Brighton weathered the storm, securing their first-ever European away victory in Amsterdam.
With this result, Brighton are guaranteed to finish matchday four in the top two, while Ajax finds themselves at the bottom of Group B with a mere two points to their name.
