Nottingham Forest will appeal their four-point deduction for breaching profit and sustainability rules.
The Garibaldi Red were handed their points deduction last week but the club's legal team has reportedly viewed the punishment as 'excessive' according to The Athletic.
The club had an overspend of just under £35 million for a three-year period which led to their four-point deduction last week – that was down from a potential of six points due to co-operation.
Forest were given a week to decide whether or not they would appeal that judgement, with the club now in the relegation zone. Now the club will do that while outlining their grievances with the decision.
On the pitch, Forest are in need of any potential point having just won one Premier League game in 2024. The club currently sit in 17th place, one point behind Luton Town with nine games left to play.
