The Premier League have announced that Manchester United striker Rasmus Hojlund has been awarded the Player of the Month award for February.
The 21-year-old Denmark international scored five goals in four appearances in England’s top-flight as Manchester United moved themselves back into the race for a top four or five finish and potential UEFA Champions League qualification.
Hojlund scored United’s second in a 4-3 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers at Molineux before getting the opener in the Red Devils’ 3-0 win over West Ham a few days later.
The former Atalanta striker then scored the opening goal as United won 2-1 at Villa Park against Aston Villa and then he scored a brace inside seven minutes against Luton Town in another 2-1 win.
He then suffered an injury and, in his absence, United suffered a shock 2-1 loss at home to Fulham with Alex Iwobi scoring a 97th minute winning goal in that match.
After joining the Mancunians for a fee believed to be in the region of £64 million from Atalanta last summer, Hojlund started the season slowly but now has seven in 20 appearances in the league with 13 goals across all competitions.
Hojlund will remain unavailable for this weekend’s clash with Everton at Old Trafford but he is in contention to return for their FA Cup quarter-final against Liverpool next weekend.
