Real Madrid have overtaken Barcelona at the Spanish BBVA league and have also gone up to the first position, temporarily, after the 0-1 victory over Real Sociedad.
Jose Mourinho’s team, reached their goal at the first minutes of the match, and despite having to failed achieve a more comfortable win, they also managed not to let the home team claim any points.
Higuain, at 9’, assisted by Fabio Coentrao, scored the only goal of the game which was enough to gift the three points to the merengues side. The Santiago Bernabeu outfit have now got 25 points, one more than Barcelona, who hammered Mallorca 5-0, a couple of hours beforehand.
With this result, Real Madrid are at the first position of La Liga’s table, but will have to wait for Levante’s result, on Sunday, against Osasuna in order to confirm whether they maintain the leadership of the Spanish championship, or if they move down to the second place.
