Former Juventus managing director, Luciano Moggi, has expressed his view against the Turin-based side's decision to let go of Alessandro Del Piero at the end of the current season.
The experienced attacker has an expiring contract with the bianconeri, and the team have shown no intention of offering the 37-year-old a new deal, so far.
"I agree that he is no longer the player he once was, but he can still be decisive, as he has shown recently. The statistics speak for themselves. It would be a mistake to let go of him," Moggi told Radio Calciomercato.
"I know him as a person and he is a great guy. He would still be very useful for Juventus, even if he doesn't always play."
"The Juve directors have to understand that he still has plenty to offer," he concluded.
The acclaimed forward has scored two goals, in a total of 19 Serie A appearances, this season.
