Ajax forward Brian Brobbey has ruled out a potential transfer to Manchester United this month to quell speculation linking him to the Red Devils.
The forward, who worked under Erik ten Hag during the Red Devils' manager's time at the Dutch giants, has scored 16 goals for Ajax across all competitions this season and Sky Germany had reported that a deal was in the offing during the January transfer window.
However, the player himself has declared that he does not intend to leave Ajax at present, although he has not ruled out a potential move in the future.
"I also saw it on the news, but I will stay in Amsterdam," Brobbey told Voetbal Zone. "Would they be allowed to come back in the summer? Haha, who knows."
The 21-year-old went on to state that he is no longer in contact with ten Hag despite their previous time together in the Eredivisie.
"I have no contact with Erik. We used to text sometimes, but Erik has enough on his mind and I have a new number," Brobbey told Voetbal International.
Brobbey's contract with Ajax runs until the summer of 2027, the historic Amsterdam club currently fifth in the Dutch top flight after recovering from a poor start to the campaign that saw them in the relegation zone at one point.
