Borussia Monchengladbach have rejected rumours claiming Barcelona have made a bid for Marc-Andre Ter Stegen.
The 21-year-old, who is considered to be one of European football’s most promising goalkeepers, has attracted the interest of clubs in Germany and across Europe, with the La Liga champions among those to have cast an admiring eye in his direction.
Barca are in the market for a new shot-stopper, after Victor Valdes confirmed he will not renew his contract, which expires next summer, but the Bundesliga side insisted the Catalans have not made an offer for Stegen.
“He's here. Any further comment about it would be too much,” director of football Max Eberl told Fohlen-Hautnah.
“If the Spaniards like to invent these stories, it's another thing.
“Neither the player nor Borussia Monchengladbach know anything about any interest, a deal or an agreement. We're building something up here, and I think he likes being a part of it.”
