In a superb first half, Notts County secured a 4-2 victory over Bradford City at Meadow Lane.
The hosts delivered a dominant performance in the first half, with goals from David McGoldrick and Dan Crowley on either side of Macaulay Langstaff's brace. However, a Richard Brindley own goal and Jamie Walker's strike made the closing moments of the game tense for Luke Williams' men.
The Magpies took the lead in the fifth minute after McGoldrick finished off a nice team move than the right side.
In the 36th minute, Langstaff doubled the lead by deflecting John Bostock's shot. Notts' no. 9 added his second goal shortly after, courtesy of an assist from Crowley, who later extended the lead to 4-0 with a lovely curling shot.
Despite County's commanding first half, the Bantams fought back in the second half.
Alex Gilliead's shot, deflected off Brindley, narrowed the gap, and Walker's goal 15 minutes from time added further pressure.
Langstaff came close to completing a hat-trick in the late stages, and last season's League Two top scorer Andy Cook was close to score his team's third.
The victory ended Notts County's two-match losing streak, while Bradford's new manager, Graham Alexander, is still on the hunt for his first win in charge.
The pass 👌 The finish 👌
