Real Madrid revive to seal Mallorca win (5-2)

Real Madrid revived in the second-half to seal a 5-2 win over Mallorca in their La Liga clash at the Santiago Bernabeu on Saturday night.

Jose Mourinho’s men came back in the second-half and scored three goals in five minutes through Cristiano Ronaldo, Luka Modric, and Gonzalo Higuain, while substitute Karim Benzema sealed a superb performance from the hosts with a late goal.

The hosts struggled in the first-half with Pepe having been placed as a defensive midfielder and Mallorca ended the first half ahead, thanks to the effort of Emilio Nsue and Alejandro Alfaro, either side of a Gonzalo Higuain equaliser after 15 minutes.

However the Portuguese tactician readjusted his tactics during halftime and Los Blancos scored three goals in just five minutes, after the break.

First Cristiano Ronaldo restored parity for the home side with a header six minutes after the restart and then Luka Modric netted a stunner from 25 yards out, putting Madrid ahead.

Gonzalo Higuain completed a double and sent the hosts into a two-goal lead, putting the result beyond doubt before the hour mark.

Karim Benzema, who came on as a substitute added a fifth at stoppage time and the reigning champions maintained the second place in the table.
