Cristiano Ronaldo has been dropped by Manchester United after the player reportedly refused to be brought on as a substitute against Spurs.
In an official statement the club said: "Cristiano Ronaldo will not be part of the Manchester United squad for this Saturday’s Premier League game against Chelsea.
The rest of the squad is fully focused on preparing for that fixture."
According to Chris Wheeler of the Daily Mail, Ronaldo refused to come onto the pitch when called upon by Erik ten Hag in yesterday's impressive 2-0 win over Spurs.
Ronaldo has not been a regular starter under new manager Erik ten Hag who has preferred to use Anthony Martial when fit or Marcus Rashford as a more dynamic number nine.
The Portuguese international has been unhappy about not playing so far this season. Of Ronaldo's 12 games for Manchester United this campaign, the 37-year-old has started just six of them and scored twice.
It is believed the player is likely to leave the club in January providing an offer is on the table.
🗣️ "I'll deal with that."
