Southampton's undefeated run in the Championship came to a crashing halt when they were hammered by a superb Sunderland at the Stadium of Light, suffering a 5-0 defeat.
The opening goal was swiftly netted by Jack Clarke just 52 seconds into the game, followed by Pierre Ekwah's deflected second six minutes later.
Ekwah scored his second and Sunderland's third, just before halftime.
Early in the second half, Bradley Dack added a fourth goal for the Black Cats, and in the dying moments of the game, 16-year-old substitute Chris Rigg marked a perfect afternoon with his first league goal.
Meanwhile, in South Wales, Swansea City continues to search for their first Championship victory of the season after succumbing to a 2-1 loss against Bristol City.
Liam Cullen opened the scoring for the Swans after only 10 minutes, notching his first goal of the season.
However, despite Bristol City having three goals disallowed in the first half, they eventually capitalized on their dominance in the second half, with goals from Mark Sykes and Sam Bell.
Elsewhere, Birmingham City maintained their undefeated status with a 1-1 draw against Millwall. Jay Stansfield, on loan from Fulham, made his first Championship start for the Blues and scored early in the second half, canceling out Kevin Nisbet's early strike to secure a share of the points.
