John Terry has reacted to his four-match ban stating that he is "disappointed" with the Football Association Regulatory Commission for finding him guilty of of racially abusing QPR's Anton Ferdinand.
The Blues' captain received a £220,000 fine, as well as being banned for four matches, but he is still considering whether to appeal the sanctions imposed on him or not.
"Mr Terry is disappointed that the FA Regulatory Commission has reached a different conclusion to the clear not guilty verdict of a court of law," read a statement issued by Terry's management company.
"He has asked for the detailed written reasons of the decision and will consider them carefully before deciding whether to lodge an appeal."
Chelsea also react
Meanwhile, Chelsea also issued a statement stating that the club will respect their captain's right to appeal.
"Chelsea Football Club notes and respects today's decision by the Football Association regarding John Terry. We also recognise that John has the right to appeal that decision," read the statement.
"It is therefore inappropriate for us to comment further on the matter at this time."
