Nasri - Arsenal should win ugly sometimes

Arsenal, Man City, Nasri | 2012-02-22 12:22

Manchester City playmaker Samir Nasri has advised former club Arsenal to think about winning ugly if they want to put an end to their goal drought.

Arsenal seem to be out of contention for any trophies this season following eliminations from both cups and bid disadvantages both in the Premier League – leaded by City – and in the UEFA Champions League, where they'd have to reverse a 4-0 score against AC Milan.

“In football, sometimes it's good to win ugly – you don't always have to play good football to win,” Nasri said to The Telegraph. “Arsenal play good football, but after seven years they haven't won, so that's difficult for them. It's important to win points and win games and that's what Man City have done.”

The Frenchman still hopes Arsenal can be successful despite his departure, but insists leaving last summer was the right call.

“I wanted Arsenal to win the FA Cup or something because I have respect for the players there and the manager. I don't want Arsenal to fall down. But I have never doubted that I made the right choice in coming here. We are top of the league and still on course for the Europa League, so I'm really happy.”
