Wild ride at the Gerland ends up in draw (4-4)

Ligue 1 2011/2012, Lyon, Paris SG | 2012-02-25 23:55

Olympique de Lyon and Paris Saint-Germain produced a spectacular show in the French Ligue 1 after settling with a 4-4 draw.

The tie suits Lyon better as they hopped to fifth, outranking Marseille and Rennes, while Carlo Ancelotti’s men were dumped from the lead by Montpellier, who beat Bordeaux (1-0) earlier this Saturday.

It was the visiting team to open the score, with a goal by Hoarau at 21’. However, in a memorable reaction, Brian Gomis and Lisandro López reversed the result in just two minutes, between 34’ and 36’. Four minutes passed and Michel Bastos had an impressive strike for Lyon’s third goal.

The first half wouldn’t end before Nene converted a penalty kick at 45’. In the second term, Briand signed the 4-2 at 57’. However, Ceará, at 73’, and again Hoarau in the last minute, settled the draw.
