Athletic defeated Valencia, 1x3, on Thursday, in a match relating to the quarter-finals of the Copa del Rey.
After 35 minutes, Iker Muniain opened the scoring for Athletic, with a right-foot strike inside the box. In an unfortunate moment Óscar de Marcos scored an own goal shortly before the interval. After 45 minutes, Nico Williams fired home Ernesto Valverde's team second goal, with a right-foot shot.
Mikel Vesga netted the last goal with 74 minutes on the clock from the penalty spot.
