It has been confirmed by the FA that winger Bukayo Saka has withdrawn from the England squad ahead of this March international break.
He has returned to his club side, Arsenal, in order to nurse an injury that he arrived at St. George’s Park with and it has been said that his withdrawal is just ‘precautionary’.
22-year-old Ealing-born Saka was among a group of four players alongside Harry Kane, Jordan Henderson and Cole Palmer who missed England training on Wednesday.
Saka has become a key man for Gareth Southgate at the Three Lions in recent years and he will be expected to be a crucial player on the right-wing for England at UEFA EURO 2024.
Saka has already earned 32 caps for England with 11 goals scored and was a key part of the side that reached the final of UEFA EURO 2020 in 2021.
He returns to an Arsenal side that are gearing up for the Premier League ‘run in’ whereby they sit atop of the Premier League table but face Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium on Easter Sunday.
