Giuseppe Rossi's agent has revealed that the Villarreal striker could have secured a summer move to Juventus if it wasn't for his serious knee injury.
The Italy international suffered last month from a recurrence of the cruciate ligament tear sustained in October at a time he had just returned to training, and the injury did not just rule him out of Euro 2012, it could also have cancelled his transfer to the Old Lady, recently proclaimed Serie A champions.
“Giuseppe Rossi? Juventus was an option for him before his injury,” Federico Pastorello told Sky Sports Italia.
The agent has also claimed that Juventus' possibility to secure other striker such as Robin van Persie or Carlos Tévez, both linked with a move to the Italian giants, is currently narrow.
“Van Persie? There is so much competition for him, that's the problem. There are many big clubs in Europe that may have more to offer him, but now that Juventus have won the Serie A title, it could change things. As for Tévez, City currently want to sell other players, and he could be taken off the market.”
